Happy Memorial Day..

It's so nice to have this extra day off here in the US to celebrate Memorial day!  I big thank to all the brave women and men who fight to keep us safe and to their familes!  The words Thank You just don't seem to be enough!

I got some gardening done yesterday, Probably did a little too much back is sore today.  But I had lots of day lilies and hostas that need to be broken up - so that is done.  It's a beautiful day here in the northeast - the sun is out and there is a slight coastal breeze, perfect!

So I thought I would show you a sneak peak on some of the projects I have been working on.  I have too many ideas and not enough time to complete them all!

Lattice Work quilt based on the tutorial over at From the blue chair - I have the pieces all made just need to lay them out and sew them together. The colors look off in this photo- they're brighter in person.  Great tutorial and quick to make.

Next quilt - this is a gift
Center block is based on the the converging corners block tutorial

Center of the quilt and now to keep adding on - got too tired  to do anymore last night.

Here are some pretty fabrics that I bought on Saturday.
I went to a LQS that I had never been to Sew Maine.
Lots of modern fabrics at great prices.

Enjoy your day,
LYNN

Hexagon quilt.....

I'm laying here in bed, catching up on my blog reading.
I had an epidural steroid injection in my back, I'm hoping it provides some relieve.
This was my first and it wasn't too bad -
not very comfortable at the moment but this too shall pass!
Anyways back to my catching up on my reading - I saw a post on Wish upon a quilts Facebook page linking to a tutorial  on Thimble Blossoms blog on how to make a Hexagon quilt they make it looks so easy I want to grab some scraps and start sewing.
Looks additive and a great take along project!
If you do a search for hexagon quilts on google lots of great ideas ranging from
the traditional to more modern.

So has anyone made or in the process of making a hexagon quilt?

Enjoy you long weekend,
LYNN

Horse day..

Not much sewing going on around here, the rain has finally stopped and the sun is out!  Been busy with dance rehearsals for one daughter and a horse show for the other.  Also working on getting the gardens cleaned up, breaking up plant, transplanting plants - it feels good to be working in the dirt.

Enjoy the photos from the horse show today.
See more about the Standardbred Horse Organization here.

My hubby made this- it's a self portrait! LOL

Shattered wonky stars...

I've been playing around with the wonky star blocks I made a few weeks ago.
So I tried them like this.....

What do you think?  Or should I just go back to the original wonky star layout?

Thanks for stopping by...

Sunday Mornings....

What a beautiful day here in the Northeast.  My children are old enough to leave them home alone, yeah!  So hubby and I have been taking the big dog, Zeva, for a walk on Sunday mornings.  I have to say it's been nice having one on one time!

The trail we walked this morning is on the Marsh
which is part of the Eastern Trail Division.

One tired dog (2 years old) after a 4 mile walk.

We added a couple of new chicks to hang out with the old hens.

Have a good day, I'm off to try to get some sewing down
while the kids are at the playground hanging with friends.

Liebster Blog Award...

First I need to Thank Tessa Marie over at The Sewing Chick
who was kind enough to present me with the Liebster Blog Award!!

 I'm so very honored!
When she sent me an email I had no idea what she was talking about
so a little research on-line and here's what I found out.

The Liebster Award (German for favorite) is for bloggers with 200 followers or less.
As a recipient of the award, you have the chance to thank and link back to the blogger who gave it to you as well as pass it along to five other deserving blogs.

The Liebster Conventions says that:
1. Thank your award presenter on your blog and link back to him/her.
2. Copy and paste the award to your blog.
3. Present the Liebster Award to 5 blogs that you think deserve to be recognized.
4. Let them know by leaving a comment on their blog.
5. Have faith that your follower will spread the love too.

Five blogs I follow and would like to award:

Candace at Saltwater quilts

Rachael @ Mama Fairy Sews

Kristy @ Cotton Addiction

Adrienne @ Shot Cotton

I have to say it was hard to pick just five!

Thank you, Tessa Marie!
I'm very honored and surprised!
Hope everyone gets a chance to check out these lovely blogs! Enjoy!!
