Super cool.....

So first for some exciting news, my Mama Said Sew Quilt that I made here.  Well Jellen at House of Fabrics, purchased it to use in a display in her quilt shop.  It will utimately hang in her vacation Cottage.

She blogs here.  Super cool!!

Then last week a received an email from Shayla Wolf the Editorial Assistant at Quiltmaker Magazine,  she came across my skateboard quilt on Pinterest asked if she could use it in the Sew to Speak section of the May/June Issue.  How cool is that!!

Here in the Northeast it's another snowy day. If it wasn't snowing we would've been at an Field Hockey tournament, which started at 7am and it's an hour and half drive.

So instead I got to sleep until 7am and I can hang out in my pjs today, gotta love when
you have a snowy day and you don't have to go anywhere!

I love seeing all the great photos coming in from QuiltCon on Instagram!

On another note I want to make over my blog anyone have any recommendations for links on how to redo my header and add those cute buttons for social media?

New Sewing Room...

This was my old space in a very small room, but even so it was a space of my own.
 You can see more here.

We have this spare bedroom that we used for when my oldest daughter came home,
but since then she has moved closer, she doesn't need a place to stay.  Yeah!!
The carpet was old and stained so we removed the carpet.

We My wonderful husband laid down pine flooring
and we finished it with Boiled Linseed Oiled.
Which we were rubbing down at 10PM.

This room has great light!  I love the space!

The floors came out beautiful!  And I have a closet to store my fabric!!
Please forgive the photos they were taken at night!

Still need to put some shelves above the cutting area.

I still have lots and lots of organizing to do...

It'll take me a little bit to work everything out but I'm gonna love this space!

By the way I turned my old sewing room into my workout room.

Thanks for stopping by!

Design layout

I thought I would share with you part of my design process.
  So here you go...

I used Timeless Treasures Script and some P&B Textiles Color Weave. I just started sewing blocks.  Decided to add a splash of red.
Then I made a few more...

Layout B

Then I tried this..

So which is your favorite?

Have wonderful day,

A psychologist walked around a room while teaching stress management to an audience. As she raised a glass of water, everyone expected they'd be asked the "half empty or half full" question. Instead, with a smile on her face, she inquired: "How heavy is this glass of water?"

Answers called out ranged from 8 oz. to 20 oz.

She replied, "The absolute weight doesn't matter. It depends on how long I hold it. If I hold it for a minute, it's not a problem. If I hold it for an hour, I'll have an ache in my arm. If I hold it for a day, my arm will feel numb and paralyzed. In each case, the weight of the glass doesn't change, but the longer I hold it, the heavier it becomes." She continued, "The stresses and worries in life are like that glass of water. Think about them for a while and nothing happens. Think about them a bit longer and they begin to hurt. And if you think about them all day long, you will feel paralyzed – incapable of doing anything."

It’s important to remember to let go of your stresses. As early in the evening as you can, put all your burdens down. Don't carry them through the evening and into the night. Remember to put the glass down!

Blizzard Nemo....

Well here in the Northeast we survived the biggest snowstorm since 1979!
We got about 30" of snow over 2 day period. It was nice not to have to go anywhere. Best thing is we didn't lose our power!  I've been hearing about the show Downton Abbey.  So I watched Season one and two over the long weekend.  I'm hooked!

Here's the back deck Friday after it snowing half the day.

Here's the same photo on Saturday!

We couldn't get out the back door or the front door.  So we opened up the garage so we could let the dogs out.
As you can see we got just a little bit of snow.
Our 100# Rotti, ZEVA, is thinking this is the best, poor thing has a torn ACL so we have to keep her on a leash and no running in the snow for her.  Little Mojo is wondering what the heck she's going to do??

Enjoy your evening,
The most courageous act is still to think for yourself. Aloud.

Happy Super Bowl Sunday?  Will you be watching the game??  I'll watch a little here and there, who doesn't want to see the commercials!  But I'm going to try and get some sewing done.  No Field Hockey today because it Super Bowl Sunday.

Yesterday we spent celebrating my mom's 71st birthday, we all chipped in and purchased a flat screen TV, she was so happy it brought tears to her eyes!  It something she would have never purchased for herself!  So much fun in our dysfunctional family!

I'm super excited......
I'm 2 followers away from hundred, I think it will be time for a giveaway.

I'm 9 post, well 8 after this one from my 100th post,

On the 26th of this month it's my blog anniversary!

So I can see some giveaways in the near future!
I want to thank each and everyone of you for following me!

I would love to have feedback on what you would like to see more of in from this blog.  I've just been using it to recording my quilting journey.  I've realized I love the design process.  My least favorite part is the finishing, lots of UFO's around here.  Lots of orphan blocks, that oh I think I would love and I make up the sample block and I say to myself nope don't like that.  Several tops completed but not quilted.

There are not enough hours in the day to complete or make all the ideas that are going around in my head.  It's that day job that keeps getting in the way, LOL!  Don't get me wrong - I'm very grateful that I have a job! I was laid of a few years ago and was out of work for almost a year, then started working again and got laid of 6 months later.  So I'm very thankful that I have a job!

This is what I've been working on:

I'm the queen bee for February over at Stash bee.

I'm having the lovely ladies make a wonky star and wonky log cabin blocks.  I'll be donating this to a local charity for Tweens/Teens.  I asked for bright, fun unisex colors.

I've been playing around with some wonky cross blocks.
I seem to be on a red, gray, off white color scheme lately.

I've also been playing around with my scraps and started working on the scrappy trip along that has been all over the internet,  you can find the tutorial for this over at Quiltville.

Not sure about this, kind of dark - needs some brighter fabrics.

Then I saw this quilt on Pinterest and followed it back to Elizabeth Hartman blog Oh, Fransson!
You can find her instructions here, Mod Mosaic.

Mosaic blocks
These fabrics might look familiar I used them on my x and + quilt

Block sizes
10.5 x 12" and 5.5 x 12"
